Getting Active With the Kids

DS1 has started ski training and is doing exercise to build up leg strength.  I feel this is my opportunity to suggest some additional bike riding and skipping take place.  I have this real aversion to doing stuff like this with the kids as I've always associated it with trying to loose weight.  I have got to try to see it as having fun!!  I'd love to go rock wall climbing and abseiling but I fear I won't fit in the harness's never mind have the strength to do it.  Nor the bladder!!  When I think back I was always over weight as a child and yet I was so active!  I was in the school hockey, shinty, rounders and cricket team.

Me aged about 10

I was such a Tomboy, climbing trees and fences, I didn't do dolls!!  The really strange thing though, thinking about why am I overweight, I can't remember any one telling me I was as a child. I do remember mum taking me the Dr's and me being weighed.  But I wasn't one of these really massive kids.
