Well its been a week – have I lost weight….?

5 February, 2010

First of all let me review the weight loss programme thus far. I have eaten all that I have been asked to eat (1500 calories a day), I've swapped bits a bobs around as advised in the programme pack and I've spoken with another consultant who rang to give me his support (thank you) and I have another consultation with Alexia tomorrow afternoon.

I have found the meals and snacks no more or less hard to palate than pre trial as they are not really that different from what I had been previously been eating.  However, the major difference has been portion sizes and the frequency of snacks.

Activity wise, I'm getting back to it again as my injury starts to heal!  Yay!!  2 trips to the gym, 4x4 mile walks and Roger and I have been reacquainting our selves, oh how I have missed him!  Bless his little belt and digital display.  I did my 1st 2.5miles today.  Oh the joy!!

So, have I lost weight??

Yes - 3lb (!) I am 14st 1lb or 197lb.

I am pleased but not surprised as I knew I would as I'm back on track(literally) , the programme never promised massive/rapid weight loss but it did promise healthy food and support for consultants, which I can't fault it for.  It suggested 1 -2 lb a week would be the norm and this is what I was achieving on my own.  So thus far, it appears to work.

The programme is practical as it has taken away a need to think or plan my menu as all meals are there, in little pouches, waiting to be heated up and enjoyed.   And there, for me is how it fails.  Once again, I feel restricted as I have with WW, SW, CD etc.

These are my views on how its working for me, I think its a fantastic weight loss programme, but not for me.  I have 3 more weeks of it and I will complete it to give you a good in-depth review but up to now, I haven't experienced anything  other than a little re-education.  Please keep in mind, this is only week one, I could be 10 stone and ripped when I get up in the morning!!  Also consider that I am 6 months in to a lifestyle change, still making mistakes and learning with every step.
