Bike rides and Race for Life

19 April, 2010

Had a belting weekend help by the great weather.  Pruned the fruit trees and netted the veg so those naughty pigeons don't eat the seedlings.  I managed to get a run and a long walk in and yesterday - brace your selves - I went for a 6 mile bike ride with DS1.

I have my corrected parenting certificate now, hung on the wall for all to see and I decided to put my learning into action by having some quality time with DS1.  He was in charge, helped his old mother up hills shouting words of encouragement like "shall I order the ambulance now!" (nah, he didn't)

What he did do though was introduce me to the freedom of free wheeling down a huge hill.  It was well worth the climb to whiz back down it catching bugs in my teeth and feeling dead brave standing up in the peddals like a big kid!!  I need a gel seat though - bottom is somewhat tender today.

Now then folks - I'm also in training for a Race For Life and I need to raise £50 otherwise I'll look a fool.  So how about you dig deep and sponsor me £2 and lets see what we can raise....  I'm doing 2 this year, both 5K, this one is on 23rd May in Wrexham, the other is in Liverpool a couple of months later.
