Well it had to happen - picture the scene - its very wet, raining heavier than a heavy things heavy thing and I'm dressed as Nanook of the north. I have BB water proof pants on, my coat, a hi-viz jacket, back pack and baseball cap. I'm on the cycle path that runs through the local industrial estate when along comes 2 pedestrians armed with 2 very big umbrellas.
I decide, in my infinite wisdom to move over to the grass that runs along the cycle path thus letting the couple past but I didn't notice the sunken edging stone. My bike did though and stuck like glue to it for about 2 foot however, me and my body where still trying to make for the grass! That's when I ended up on my knees in a heap.
The bike was left on its side as I grunted and groaned getting up, the pedestrians didn't run to help me, neither did any of the drivers in the rush hour traffic!! I went as red as my sorely knee and picked the bike up and huffed past the walkers. As I did, one of them said, "oh sorry - thought you where a bloke"
