I've been a mom for more than four years and the one baby gear item that I absolutely cannot live without is my double jogging stroller (before I had my second baby, it was my single jogging stroller!) Jogging strollers can be a lifesaver for running moms because we can still get our runs in (weather-permitting, of course) without arranging for childcare. And I've always found a ride in a jogging stroller is a sure-fire way to get a cranky baby to take a nap. Here are some tips for when you take your little one out for a run: Lock the front wheel. Some jogging strollers have a fixed front wheel, while others have a switch that allows you to lock and unlock the wheel. When you're running with the stroller, it's safest to lock the front wheel in place. This will prevent the stroller from turning suddenly and causing you to crash or fall. Pack wisely. Most jogging strollers have a basket underneath, as well as other compartments or holders, so you should have plenty of room for things you might need during your run. Don't forget diapers, wipes, water (for you and your child), snacks, and a toy or book to entertain your child. Strap your child in with the full harness. The harness will protect your child from falling out or getting shaken. Even if you're not moving too quickly, the harness will prevent him from reaching out and getting his fingers caught in the wheels. More:
